Tip #13 – To the refreshed wine cellar

in four steps

Spring is finally here! But with the change of seasons, it’s also time to freshen up our wine cellars.

To do this properly, we need to focus on what we want, need or need to throw away. Take advantage of a day when you can be calm and focused. This work depends on the number of wines you have and helps you know what you have available and in what quantities.

For the change of season, you should do the following:

1) Count the bottles you have: Analyse your preferences: Did you drink more white or red wine in winter? Which wines did you like best? Are there still bottles of that wine or should you buy more?

2. which wines will you recycle? Decide which wines you will recycle for cocktails or recipes.

3. replenish your supplies: write down what you need to replenish your wine cellar. Make a list and visit the Cape Wine online shop. If you don’t know what to order, why not come to one of our Degu events to learn about new wines and expand your palate. Our experts can advise you while you explore the different regions of South Africa through the wines.

4) Store your wines properly: Prepare your wine cellar well. Store the bottles you want to keep carefully so that the wine does not spoil.

According to the website statista.com, around 31.5 litres of wine were drunk per capita in Switzerland in 2020. Cleaning your wine collection is important because it gives you an idea of the direction you’re going in and what you’ll need when the time comes to celebrate.
